I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I read about Soundfall. There's a great mashup of genres that I wasn't sure would work together until I watched the trailer. Now, I'm pretty excited about seeing more gameplay as time goes on.

As I said in the headline, Soundfall is a music-driven adventure game which combines rhythm-based gameplay with a dungeon-crawling experience. It follows young audiophile, Melody, as she navigates the land of Symphonia and searches for a way home.

Rather than clicking her ruby slippers, however, she becomes entangled in a raging conflict to save the realm from the evil darkness, Discord.

"Soundfall's levels, enemies, loot, and more are procedurally-generated by and dynamically react to a range of musical elements, changing not only from song to song but measure to measure as tunes build and die away. Battles synchronize to the beat, rewarding players who dash and slash in time to the beat with impressive dance-like combos."

I mean, I don't know about you... but that sounds seriously cool. You can also hunt for gear/upgrades, choose between a huge range of playable characters, and engage in cooperative play between four friends both online and local.

Soundfall's bound for Nintendo Switch (and PC and console) sometime in 2019. It's early days, but we'll keep you updated when we know more.
