Zwar 1: The Great War of the Dead 1918 - 1927 nabs second place at the PGC Helsinki VBIP 2017
WW1 Lovecraft-style
Zwar 1: The Great War of the Dead 1918 - 1927 has an absolutely ridiculous name, but that didn't hold it back from finishing second place in the Very Big Indie Pitch at this year's Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki.
And it thoroughly deserved the plaudits. This is an incredibly ambitious experience that strives to bring a cinematic, horror, shooter experience to your mobile devices.
You play as a soldier in the trenches of World War One. You'll mow down enemy soldiers with machine guns, set up trench defences to halt their assaults, and call in air support and other power ups.
If you're running short on firepower, you can upgrade each item to make living easier for yourself in the next level. And sooner, rather than later, you'll have to do that.
Cthulhu? What are you doing here?!Because it's not just soldiers you're contending with. No, very quickly you'll be faced with horrific entities that require some serious coordination to take down.
Entities like a giant Cthulhu by the way. It's enough to keep you up at night - and it will. It's addictive stuff, and you'll want to push through to see what horrific monsters wait ahead.
We'll keep you posted as this one builds up to launch. For now, we'd just like to give it a massive congratulations for deservedly placing second At PGC Helsinki's VBIP.
