Catan VR is Catan, but in VR, and it's coming out later in the year

In the realm of interesting ideas that haven't really happened yet, VR board games is pretty high on the list. I mean, it just makes sense, doesn't it? Strap on a headset, play a board game, don't tidy anything up when you're done.
Well it looks like some people think it's the future, because Asmodee Digital, Experiment 7 and Catan Studio are bringing the classic board game Catan to VR for the very first time.
The game is slated to come out towards the end of the year, and it'll be available on Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR at launch.
It's certainly an exciting step for digital board games, and the fact that the developers have been working in close conjunction with the original inventors of Catan should certainly bode well for the experience.
