Nintendo Switch gets its first video streaming app this week
Japan only, however
It's only taken several months, but the Nintendo Switch will soon be getting its first video app.
Niconico is a Japanese video streaming app very similar to YouTube, the main difference being that user comments are displayed directly over the livestreams. It was also the first video app introduced on the PS Vita.????Nintendo Switch niconico????! Nintendo Switch???????https://t.co/OuOADTJOu9 pic.twitter.com/aj3GZWOl1m — ????@????? Though Nintendo stated that streaming services would be coming in time, there's still no word and no sign of the likes of YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, Hulu, or anything on the way. Hopefully Niconico is just the beginning of the Switch's multipurpose capabilities.
Sadly, this one's for Japan only so unless you've got a Japanese Nintendo account, you'll have to sit this one out. It launches on the eShop this Thursday, July 13th.
