Overwatch won't be coming to the Switch for now, but there's a good reason for it

Following up to my previous article on Overwatch's potential development for Switch, we've got good news for some and bad news for others.

It's not been ruled out, but for now Overwatch is definitely not being developed for the Switch for a good reason.

After being approached by The Express, Jeff Kaplan said that getting the game on the platform would be a challenge - especially to balance it with their current workload across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

"I think the problem is, we've really targeted our min spec in a way that we would have to revisit performance and how to get on that platform," said Kaplan. "And also, it's already challenging right now maintaining three platforms and patching simultaneously, which is something that we've finally been able to achieve."

Currently, working to fit the needs of both Microsoft and Sony is challenging for Blizzard, but throwing Nintendo's needs into the fray would then add another level of complexity needing to be balanced. We'd hate to see the currently platforms suffer as a result.

What do you guys think of it - could Overwatch work on the Switch? Let us know in the comments below.
