Punch Club was off to a great start for an indie game. Whether it was on PC or on mobile, it went on to sell 300 000 copies, a remarkable feat given the game's genre and difficulty.

Tinyclub even updated it with three hours of new content for free.

You might think that this would be enough to keep pirates at bay, but it wasn't.

Tinyclub used a fingerprinting technology to track the pirated copies of Punch Club and the results are staggering:
Over a million people pirated the game on PC, while 500 000 illegal apps were downloaded on mobile.

It's even more interesting when you break that down between mobile ecosystems as Android amounts for 90% of that.
