While we were mooching around this year's Casual Connect in Amsterdam, we caught up with mobile developer Asteroid Pilots who showed us its awesome upcoming point and click adventure, Osmo Cosmo.

Osmo Cosmo is aimed at a younger audience, so the artwork is suitably adorable. You play as a child who, with the help of her cute dog, has to complete a bunch of puzzling tasks.

One of these was getting up, taking a shower, and making a pizza for breakfast. It may sound mundane, but in practice it totally isn't, as her house has been outfitted with machinery to automate most of these tasks. You simply have to get in the right position to pull a few levers.

Another task involves messing with chemicals to create a steam platform and float onto a satellite to grab your missing spanner. How it got up there is beyond us but retrieving it felt pretty satisfying so we're not complaining.

Everything is performed with a series of taps. Tap to walk, jump, interact with your environment, and get your dog to sit like a good boy.

It feels great and suitably responsive, with a nice bursting-bubble animation that appears every time you tap. It's a little inconsistent though, as you sometimes have to shuffle about to get in the right position to move a lever, and you can only jump directly up, which frustrates a but when you want to jump to another platform. It could learn a lot from games like Limbo.

It's a minor complaint though in an adventure that looks set to be charming, challenging, and fun when it launches.

It's been in development for about a year now, and it could launch as early as this year on iOS and Android, with a PC version being considered. We'll keep you posted.
