Remember chunky Game Boy-style platformer 1-bit Ninja? We gave it a Silver Award back in the day and praised its "evocative presentation and firm-but-fair controls".

Now it's back, as a randomly-generated, endless runner called 1-bit Ninja Remix Rush. And it's out right now on the App Store.

The simple two-button controls are the same (one button to move forward, another to jump) and it's still as hard as hell. And now you not only need to stay alive, but you need to collect bits to reverse a ticking timer that counts down to your doom.

One for masochists, then. We called it an "unrelenting and unforgiving challenge, and the perfect antidote to toothless endless runners" in our Bronze Award review.

Remix Rush will set you back £1.49 / $1.99.
