'Censorship simulator' The Westport Independent confirmed for iOS, gets first trailer
(News)papers, please
Double Zero One Zero has confirmed that its "censorship simulator" The Westport Independent will be coming to iOS after all.
I checked out the game a little while ago upon finding out that it would be coming to Android at the same time as the PC release.
The iOS version was still up in the air at the time, but I have been told today that it will definitely be coming to Apple devices.
To celebrate this news, Double Zero One Zero released the game's first trailer, which you can watch above.
The trailer focuses on the most recent addition to The Westport Independent that makes it even more like Papers, Please.
"Throughout the game, you will censor articles, pick out headlines and layout your paper. Your actions will affect the peoples opinion of both the rebels and the Loyalist government," game designer Pontus Lundén explains.
"At the same time, it'll also affect the lives of your employees. They have both their lives and the lives of their families to protect, so don't blame them if they don't want to follow you onto the Loyalists or the rebels hit list."
These employees are the newest additions to the game, adding more weight to the choices you make when censoring the newspapers.
They play the same role as your family do in Papers, Please in that your choices jeopardise them as well as yourself.
The Westport Independent will be coming to iOS, Android, and PC when it's finished. There's more information on its website.
