A DS version of the Japan-developed tactical role-playing game Disgaea is being worked on. That's according to the latest issue of Japanese games magazine Famitsu (as reported by AkaYuki).

Translated, the game's title is Disgaea DS: Prince of the Demon World and the Red Moon. No details have been revealed yet, but we suspect this won't be a port of one of the existing Disgaea games (there's been one for PSP and two for PS2 to date). Rather, it's relatively safe to assume a brand new instalment is on the way for the series' first appearance on a Nintendo system.

We don't know because we're not part of the development team. But if that team isn't part of Nippon Ichi Software, we don't want to know anyway.

So we'll bring you more details when we get them. It's all very exciting. We awarded Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness on PSP a Platinum Award – our highest – and should expect nothing but tactical RPG brilliance on DS. If not, there'll be trouble +10.
