PopCap soft-launches Plants vs Zombies 2 for Android in Australia and New Zealand
Rest of the world getting it 'shortly'
Android plant fanciers: your wait is almost over.
PopCap has just soft-launched Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time on the Google Play Store in Australia and New Zealand, and is promising a global launch in the not-too-distant future.
The game has already been out on iOS (and for Android devices in China) for a while, but we've been waiting patiently for a sign from EA and PopCap that the rest of us 'droid gamers were going to get a go.
In Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time, you battle the undead across various points in history, using new plants and abilities to bash the flesh munchers back whence they came.
We gave the iOS version of PopCap's free-to-play tower defence title a Bronze Award upon reviewing it, calling it "a worthy sequel to a much-loved original, but one that suffers from structural changes introduced to accommodate IAP."
We'll let you know as soon as Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time hits the Google Play Store in the rest of the world.
Just you watch us.
