Joe Danger Touch, the much-anticipated iOS caper starring a bobble-headed motorcycle daredevil, is almost here. It will appear on the App Store at midnight tonight.

While it is heavily based on Joe's Xbox Live and PlayStation Network adventures, this is an entirely new game, built specifically for iOS.

It's styled as an auto-runner, meaning you just need to tap and swipe the screen to make Joe hop, duck, pop wheelies, and perform tricks.

Across 60-odd stages, you'll use this repertoire of moves to jump buses, dodge giant mousetraps, and leap over tanks full of sharks.

There are bonuses to unlock, Game Center achievements to grab, and leaderboards to fight over. Plus, it has a whole bunch of different characters to play as. You can unlock them as you play, or buy them via in-app purchases.

In terms of hardware compatibility, Joe Danger Touch has been optimised for older devices like the iPhone 3GS and first-gen iPad, enhanced for recent gadgets like the iPad mini and iPhone 4S, and "perfected" for iPhone 5 and the new iPad (a.k.a. the iPad with Retina display).

That means "60 frames per second retina graphics with normal mapping, dynamic shadows and hundreds of physics objects". Sounds delicious.

That's Joe Danger Touch, then. It's out in Middle Earth (a.k.a. New Zealand) right now, and it will reach international App Stores as the new day breaks.

It will set you back £1.99 / $2.99.

In our Joe Danger Touch preview, by the way, we called it "the perfect mobile extension of this fan-favourite series". We'll have even more nice things to say about it in our review, which is scheduled to go live tomorrow.
