New details for Asphalt 8: Infinity surface as developer's diary leaks
Infinity +1
Barely eight months ago we saw the first footage of Asphalt 7: Heat, but that game's already falling into our rearview mirror.
Now firmly in the new year, we're looking forward to a new Asphalt racing game - and a leaked developer's diary indicates that we'll be in for just that when Asphalt 8: Infinity comes to iOS and Android.
While Asphalt 8: Infinity will have plenty of new courses to offer fans of the franchise, the game will focus on becoming the first title "driven by physics" in the august history of Asphalt.
Driven to distractionThis new physics focus will be a "permanent challenge" for players to compensate for, but it will also allow them to pull off some rather slick looking acrobatic stunts.
In a new level that appears to be a sewer tunnel, for example, cars can apparently drive up - and execute tricks off of - the walls. Additionally, the new physics focus will allow players to have a much more immersive driving experience as they learn to "feel the car".
We're not quite sure about how that last part will translate to the finished game, but we're all for driving cars off of walls.
There's no word yet on when Asphalt 8: Infinity will make its way to Google Play or the App Store, but we'll be following its development closely.
