Christmas comes early with the arrival of DreamWorks Dash n Drop

It's still a bit early to hang up your stockings by the mantle, but PikPok Games has brought a dash of Christmas cheer to the App Store with their latest movie tie-in title.

The Christmas-themed DreamWorks Dash n Drop (69p/99c) is now available as part of a promotional campaign for the upcoming animated film Rise of the Guardians.

Featuring gameplay that recalls elements of Jetpack Joyride, DreamWorks Dash n Drop has you take control of Santa's flying sleigh and tasks you with collecting presents and rescuing elves all while avoiding flying nightmares sent to dampen your holiday spirit.

No time like the present

DreamWorks Dash n Drop is a bit of a tangential tie-in to Rise of the Guardians, as it has Santa's elves take center stage for the game.

In the upcoming movie, Jack Frost joins forces with Santa Claus, The Sandman, The Tooth Fairy, and a rather Australian-sounding Easter Bunny to battle against an alien who preys on fear and nightmares. The elves are there in the background, but are certainly not the stars of the film.

Despite the lack of the legendary guardians in the game, DreamWorks Dash n Drop offers fine looking graphics that are sure to put you in the holiday spirit no matter what time of year you choose to play it in.

PikPok is most recently known for its Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning game, Velocirapture.
