Gameloft's Unreal Engine-powered brawler Wild Blood has hacked 'n' slashed its way to Android, and is now sitting pretty on Google Play's virtual shop shelves.

It's a gory God of War-style adventure, where hero Sir Lancelot takes up a blood-soaked quest to defeat the maniacal tag team sibling duo of King Arthur and his sister Morgana.

You'll fight through ten levels, take on about 20 different enemy types, fell epic bosses, wield an arsenal of deadly weapons, and explore lush environments.

There's also an online multiplayer mode, where eight players can enter the coliseum and do battle - either in team deathmatch or Capture the Flag mode. There are local multiplayer modes available, too.

Romp to victory

In our Bronze Award review of the iOS version of Wild Blood, we called it "a flawed but enjoyable romp, saved in part by a fun multiplayer mode". We concluded that "Wild Blood isn't vintage Gameloft, but it's entertaining in small chunks".

If you fancy some blood-splattered fun on your Android, you can get Wild Blood for £4.99 / $6.99. Do note, however, that while the download is a 'scant' 700MB, you'll need 2GB of free space to install it.

Updated on October 9th, at 12:00: Good news, Xperia Play fans. Wild Blood is fully optimised for Sony's device.
