Hail to the Kickstarter: Machineworks looking to bring Duke Nukem Mobile to iPhone

Old skool 2D shooter Duke Nukem Mobile could be heading to iPhone in the not-too-distant future.

Machineworks, one of the companies behind both Duke Nukem Mobile (2004) and the Duke Nukem Mobile II: Bikini Project (2005) sequel, is planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund the porting of both games to the iPhone.

Though these side-scrolling interpretations of the Duke Nukem universe were limited by the mobile tech of the mid-2000s, the games offered a decent portable dose of alien-blasting bravado.

Now, Machineworks is intending to ask for $45,000 to resurrect these two forgotten chapters in the Duke's personal saga.

If successful, Machineworks will release both games together as a "Double Duke Deal".

The pack will be free to download, and will include in-app purchases, which you will be able to obtain via 'Duke Cash'.

In the event of surplus donations, the extra cash will be funnelled into prettying up the graphics.

If this sounds like your cup of nostalgia, then keep your eyes on Kickstarter for the Duke Nukem Mobile project page.
