Android devices about to be infested with Call of Duty-flavoured zombies

Android gamers who've been clamouring for the sweet squelch of Call of Duty-themed bullets exploding in zombie flesh finally have a reason to smile, for it looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is about to shamble onto the Google Play Store.

A field manual for the game on the official Call of Duty website was spotted by the eagle-eyed folks over at Xperia Gamer - this suggests that the Android port of Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies should be lurching into view in the very near future.

In the field manual, it's stated that you should play the single-player campaign with your device set to flight mode, which is a little worrying.

There's plenty of other info in the field manual if you're interested, but a quick scan leads me to think it's going to be identical to the iOS version that came out at the end of last year. That edition received a glittering Silver Award from us on review.

If the Android port is identical to the iOS version, you can expect some top-down shooting in Dead Ops Arcade, FPS action on the Kino der Toten map, plenty of power-ups, co-operative gameplay, and more than your average amount of the undead to pump full of lead.

We'll keep you posted on when the game actually turns up on the Google Play Store, and whether or not it's optimised for the Xperia Play.
