Early adopters of the Nintendo 3DS and fans of Hatsune Miku teal in general may want to keep their Aqua Blue 3DS handhelds in mint condition- they are soon to become a rarity.

Andriasang is reporting that Nintendo will discontinue its Aqua Blue 3DS in the near future based on a note added to the official 3DS hardware page:

No need to panic

Fans of the 3DS need not worry that the system itself is being discontinued, as the other shades do not have the same note that the Aqua Blue shade does.

Cobalt Blue, Ice White (Europe and Japan only), Misty Pink, Flare Red, Cosmo Black, and Cobalt Blue are still available with no apparent plans to be discontinued.

The Aqua Blue 3DS was one of the two original launch colors of the handheld that debuted in February 2011 alongside Cosmo Black.
