Original content on the way for PlayStation-certified devices

Sony rolls out open beta of PlayStation Suite SDK for Android and Vita games

As promised, Sony has just released the open beta version of its PlayStation Suite software development kit (SDK).

What exactly does that mean for gamers? Well, it means more developers can get working on original content for PlayStation-certified devices - something Sony has been promising for some time.

The software package is free to download via Sony's Developer Program, so this should help the company attract new talent to the platform. Heck, Sony Mobile will even lend you some smartphones for free if your studio is strapped for cash.

Here's hoping that Sony can entice plenty of talented developers to create new IP for its fledgling platform, so that PlayStation-certified device owners will soon have some exclusive content to get stuck into.
