Squint hard enough, and it's Tony Hawks Pro Skater on your Play

Skating sim Mike V: Skateboard Party is now optimised for the Xperia Play

Ratrod's 3D Android skateboarding game Mike V: Skateboard Party is now fully optimised for the Xperia Play.

Mike Vallely's answer to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series has you catching big air and big scores across a variety of conveniently ramp-filled locations.

Boasting more than 40 tricks, eight characters, and an extensive selection of authentic gear - including boards, trucks, wheels, and shoes - Mike V: Skateboard Party is as full featured as they come.

Let's get physical

In our review of Skateboard Party for Android, we did find its touchscreen controls a little bit lacking, mind, and we struggled to pull off the "sick" combos that an insistent Mike V asked of us.

Support for the Xperia Play's physical controls should make those 'gnarly' high scores slightly more attainable, though, and should hopefully negate the need to resort to in-app purchases to unlock later levels.

Mike V: Skateboard Party is available now from Google Play, priced at £1.26 / $1.99 [download].
