Looking for something to get your teeth into over the long weekend?

US developer Playdek has just released its iOS version of Alderac's deck-building game Nightfall.

As with all such games, there's a certain amount of know-how required to get up-to-speed in terms of the gameplay, but basically, you start out with a set of minions, which you drag onto your opponents to attack them by inflicting wounds.

The multiplayer action takes place on a revolving play space, and when the battle's over, the player with the fewest wounds wins.

You can beef up your moves using cards from your archives, also chaining minion and action cards together to maximise their effectiveness with special effects. However, you have to work out how chaining together minions and actions could rebound and impact onto your position in the game.

Obviously, Nightfall is turn-based, but your time is limited, ensuring you're under pressure - as indeed you should be, given the post-apocalyptic setting of ghouls, vampires and werewolves.

Up to five players can play online or using the pass and play mode, or you can drop in AI opponents. You can also have multiple save games, and there's a helpful tutorial to get you started if you're new to the world.

Nightfall is a universal app, available now, priced $4.99, €3.99 or £2.99.
