Nintendo launches UK-wide 3D photography competition

Yesterday, Nintendo launched a UK-based 3D photography competition in association with National Geographic Kids and The Royal Photographic Society (RPS), the world's oldest national photographic society.

Competition entries have been split into six unique categories - Animals, People, Places, Objects, Nature, and Augmented Reality - so you can shoot almost anything you fancy.

If you do decide to enter, your shots will be judged by a panel that includes Lauren Jarvis, who is the editor of National Geographic Kids magazine; and Dr Michael Pritchard, who is director general at the RPS.

"We're really excited to be working with Nintendo on this project," Dr Pritchard said.

"3D photography has been around since the 19th century, but Nintendo 3DS gives people of all ages the opportunity to experiment with the technology and create their own 3D masterpieces."

To enter the competition, simply snap a photo that fits into one of the six abovementioned themes using your 3DS's camera and upload it to Nintendo's dedicated competition website.

This website features galleries of all the photos that have been uploaded. You can view a photo in 3D on your Nintendo 3DS by scanning each photo's respective QR Code.

You have until June 17th to submit your entry.
