Shift 2: Unleashed (iPhone and iPad)

EA's Shift 2: Unleashed managed to race its way to a prestigious Pocket Gamer Gold Award when it sped around our test track back in August. This was mainly thanks to its variety of race types and an "excellent" single-player career mode.

You can upgrade each of the game's 40 real-world cars - with a range of spoilers, body kits, and more - by earning credits from race wins. Unfortunately, it looks like this title is only free in the US.

The Sims Medieval (iPhone)

If you haven't heard of EA's The Sims franchise, you must live in a bush. Jokes aside, this popular simulation series sees you create a virtual character, who undertakes daily activities and adventures under your command.

We gave The Sims Medieval a respectable Bronze Award at review, so it's definitely worth checking out. Especially while it's free.

Saving Yello (Universal)

Your aim in this physics-based puzzler is to flick helpless goldfish Yello back into his bowl of water and to get revenge on his seven-year-old owner by destroying her toys.

You have to complete this task over 40 different levels, each of which gives you the chance to bag achievements on OpenFeint and Game Center.
