Speaking to Pocket Gamer earlier today, Gameloft's digital marketing and PR Manager Gregory Wintgens revealed that the French publisher/developer plans "to release everything as Universal”, doing away with special HD versions for iPad.

While there will be occasions where licensing prevents the company from fulfilling this with every game, it means that iPad users will no longer have to wait months for iPhone games to be ported over.

Gameloft is getting rid of high-definition versions mainly on the basis of consumer feedback.

Although Wintgens didn't say exactly what that feedback was, we suspect iPad gamers were getting a little fed up with paying more than their iPhone-owning friends.
