Cave Story 3D producer Jack Niida has given out a few titbits of information about his studio's upcoming three-dimensional platformer.

Speaking to Siliconera, he says not to expect any brand new stages in the November-scheduled port, but explains that existing stages have been "expanded", and that "there are new areas to explore".

"Long time fans will definitely see the difference".

However, it's not all good news. The original game won't be included as a bonus, despite being, "one thing we were talking about".

The reason? The developer has simply run out of space on the cartridge.

Cave Story 3D will hit the Nintendo 3DS this November.
