US developer sells Jeep to make 2Foos for iPad
Park to play
It takes a lot for an American to sell their car. Most would prefer to lose a foot in a tragic donut and coffee-related incident. They could still hop to their car, and donuts and coffee taste good...
We're unsure about Evangeline Marzec's attitude to donuts, but from her namechecking of the mochas at Stealth Starbucks, she seems to like coffee. Still, out went her Jeep Grand Cherokee; sold to develop an iPad game.
Twist and shoutNow released, 2Foos cost $12,750 to make.
As the name suggest, it's a two-player foosball experience, with no artificial intelligence so you'll have to find a friend to play.
"The iPad does what no other console ever has: lets two people play intuitively on the same device. It's a fundamentally social and physical experience," Marzec says in terms of justification. Well, without a car, she's probably making plenty of new friends on the Seattle buses.
Interestingly, the game brings an Art Deco style to the foosball table - think an inlaid mahogany theme. There are four jersey choices per player, and you can play games of five or 10 goals, or two or three minutes.
2Foos is out now. It costs $4.99, €3.99 or £2.99. If you want to know why, check out this reasoning.
