Lemmings for iPhone blocked by Sony

Put away the green wigs and blue pull-overs. Lemmings isn’t hitting the iPhone after all.

As correctly predicted by our sharp commentators in last week’s story, Sony, the owner of the Lemmings trademark, has sent a cease and desist letter to the developers, Mobile1Up calling for all versions made by the company to be taken down.

The developer has spoken about trying to get the licensing rights to produce an iPhone version of the game, but it’s hard to see Sony accepting this idea given that it tends to use the services of Team17 for Lemmings titles.

If you’re intrigued as to what it might be like to receive a scary letter/email from a large corporation, you can read the (confidential, I note) letter sent to Mobile1Up here.
