Will the Nintendo 3DS just do better versions of games like this?
New hardware announced, already sort of exists
Pocket Gamer logged in this morning to discover that a news bomb had been dropped in its back garden. We've notified the relevant authorities, so now all that remains is to wonder what's going to happen when is explodes during this year's E3 in June.
The first thing that comes to mind is that 3D motion-tracking technology already exists in the DSi, as Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda - which has been ricocheting around our part of the blogosphere - demonstrates.
Is the 3DS (working title) going to bring anything more than a motion-tracking-optimised version of the DSi, or will it be more powerful in other respects? Will it have dual-touchscreens? Time will tell, but for now why not take another look at motion-tracking in action on the DSi.
3D may be the future, but the future is already here.
