New Splinter Cell game coming to iPhone

I thought seriously about putting a question mark at the end of that headline, given that the story is based on a teaser site that reveals nothing concrete, but the clues are so obvious that we might as well just come out with it: there's a new Splinter Cell game coming to iPhone.

Gameloft has put up a site containing nothing other than the image below, of a tired man pointing a gun. The URL, which Gameloft promoted on Twitter, is samsnewmission.com, Sam Fisher being the protagonist of the Splinter Cell series.

Gameloft has already published several Splinter Cell on mobile thanks to the company's fraternal connection with Ubisoft, which publishes the console versions.

That's the evidence that a new Splinter Cell game is coming, but how do we know it's going to be an iPhone game? Simple - the numbers across the bottom of the teaser site are the coordinates for Infinite Loop, Apple's Cupertino headquarters.

This is the first Splinter Cell game to hit iPhone. We'll supply further details as we come by them.
