Steve Davis Online Pool breaks on the iPhone

Although The Nugget is better known for his snooker prowess, pool is a considerably easier game, so when it comes to the 9-ball pub sport he should probably boast the nickname 'The Ginger Dumbledore'. So that's what we'll call him in I-play's slick-looking new 3D iPhone pool game, Steve Davis Online Pool.

Featuring full, smooth-looking 3D visuals, Steve Davis Online Pool allows you to compete in three international events: the World Pool Masters, Premier League Pool and the World Pool Championships.

You'll be pitting your cue against the likes of Earl 'The Pearl' Strickland (who has attached his name to the US version of this game), Ralph Souquet, Francis Bustamante and, of course, Steve 'The Ginger Dumbledore' Davis.

Alongside the 9-ball, US and UK 8-ball and straight pool, you'll be able to try out some trick shots to really put the game's physics engine to the test, while online and local wi-fi multiplayer will allow you to go ball-to-ball on the felt against friends.

The game just went live over on the App Store, at the special introductory price of £1.79. Go rack 'em up.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
