Weirdly enough, it's a year and a day since we
last wrote about
Blades & Magic, a hugely ambitious mobile RPG from German developer Fishlabs. Since then, it's been shortlisted for an IMG award, and now Fishlabs has announced further details of the game.
It'll come in two different guises: a normal version for most mobile phones, and a supercharged version for certain Sony Ericsson handsets, as well as the BREW platform.
The latter will have whizzy 3D battles and cut-scenes, but both will include a whopping 10,000-word storyline, and 42 different warrior and magic skills for your character to master.
What's more, Fishlabs has signed a publishing deal for the game with Player X, which is aiming to release the game here in Europe in September or October.
One thing we're not sure about is whether
Blades & Magic still features the online multiplayer mode that was being touted a year ago – Fishlabs' latest press release doesn't mention it.
But we'll know soon as all will be revealed at the Games Convention show in Leipzig next week where, naturally,
Pocket Gamer will be to bring you the very latest mobile and handheld developments.

I don't think it was officially being shown at Leipzig, but Fishlabs had a stand in the business-only area, so I'd assume if you asked them nicely, you would have been able to get your hands on it.
