 GAME BOY PREVIEW

Hit School for Yu-Gi-Oh!

Don't miss the bus - you'll want to arrive early for Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy

Product: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy | Developer: In-house | Publisher: Konami | Genre: Card/ board game, Film/ TV tie- in
Every so often, the newspapers suffer a bit of a funny turn and spout headlines that read something like 'Your Homework is to Play Games' or 'PlayStation 4 School'. Usually it's because some potty professor reckons people who play games are smarter than the rest of the world. Maybe it's true - but if you want to be top of the class in Konami's Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy, you'll have to work hard.

The clue to what the game is about is found in the word 'Academy'. No boring classroom this, though. Happily it's a Duel Academy, where you learn how to get better at playing your deck of monster, magic and trap cards to become the King of Yu-Gi-Oh!

Set in the spin out world of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, the game is based on the US animated series featuring characters such as Jaden Yuki, Hane Kuribo and Yugi Mutou as they train to overcome The Seven Assassins and gain the Legendary Demon Cards.

You'll start out in the school where you get to personalise your character before honing your skills with in-game tutorials and quizzes. Then it's onto the all-action duels, where you have to win, win, win to inch up the ranking ladder to become ultimate duel master. Helping you in this quest will be your trusty PDA which keeps track of the quizzes you've completed and how well you've done, lets you talk to other characters in the game and records the important events you experience.

And when you buy the game, you also get three limited edition Yu-Gi-Oh! cards: Elemental Hero Necroshade, Hero Wing, and Winged Kuriboh.
