Between Call of Duty: Ghosts and GTA V, it seems as if no action game in 2013 is complete without a canine companion.

Clearly not wanting to miss the beagle boat, PikPok has updated its endless-runner Into the Dead with an army of pooch pals.

Once equipped, these dogs will run out in front of you and take down any zombie in their path like a good boy. Who's a good boy? You are! Aren't you a good boy?! Yes, you are! Ahem.

Dogs don't grow on trees, though (right?), so you'll have to fork out for better breeds. You get Prince for free, but Blitz costs 25,000 coins, Cairo is £1.49 / $1.99, Titan costs £1.99 / $2.99, and Ghost will set you back £2.49 / $3.99.

Into the Dead

You can get the whole pack in one doggy bag for £3.99 / $5.99. Oh, and this latest update also includes iOS 7 controller support and various bug fixes.

At review, we gave Into the Dead a Silver Award. We said: "Tense and atmospheric, with a compelling mission system, Into the Dead scares the endless-runner genre back into action."
