Golden Ruby takes a leaf out of Halfbrick's book by submitting a Worm Run update full of Jetpack Joyride-style missions
Worming its way to the App Store soon
We really liked Worm Run when it raced onto iOS earlier in the year.
Golden Ruby Games's clever blend of twitch platforming and ever-encroaching death was one of the primary reasons its game earned a prestigious Gold Award in our review.
So, when we got passed a note informing us that Golden Ruby has submitted version 2.0 of the game to Apple, we could barely contain ourselves.
When we then discovered that said firmware 2.0 update includes a Jetpack Joyride-inspired mission system, we could no longer contain ourselves.
As you've now realised.
Alongside the usual graphical polish and bug bashing, Worm Run 2.0 will feature over a hundred challenges. By completing these mini-missions, you collect extra coins for spending in the game's shop.
It was the frantic nature of Worm Run that appealed to us in the first place, so hopefully these new tasks will add an extra layer of things-to-worry-about above and beyond the swiping controls and the furry orange monster that's trying to eat you.
Golden Ruby Games is planning to release the update as soon as The Big A gives it the A-okay. We'll let you know when it goes live on the App Store.
