GDC '09: Two Rolando sequels coming this year

This just in: ngmoco's Rolando is going to get two sequels this year. The splendidly named Rolando 2: The Quest for the Golden Orchid is coming in June, and Rolando 3 will arrive in November. Slated for summer, Rolando 2 will come packed with 36 new levels across 4 previously-unseen worlds.

"For significantly less than the price of a PSP or DS game, we're delivering a handheld quality experience," proclaimed Young. Joining the core adventure, updates will expand Rolando 2 with an additional 20 levels. Following this format, the third game will receive a 36-level base to be extended through updates. There's also another Rolando level pack due this May.

The announcement was delivered by ngmoco head Neil Young in his GDC keynote. That's all we know for now, but it's enough. Rejoice.
