It seems the The Big A has cottoned onto one of gamers' favourite things about the App Store - the cheap pricing - by setting up a new feature on its online marketplace that promotes a high-profile game going free each week.

The first app promoted in this way on international App Stores is Zeptolab's brain-bending physics-puzzling sequel Cut the Rope: Experiments, which was initially released last year to generally universal acclaim.

The game's mechanics aren't much different from the original Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning Cut the Rope's, but it does feature extra obstacles and more of Om Nom.

It'll be interesting to see whether the 'Free App of the Week' does become a permanent part of the 'Featured' tab on the App Store. If so, we're already looking forward to next week's freebie.

In the meantime, you can download Cut the Rope: Experiments for free by hitting the button below.
