All you footyballs fans out there will be rioting in the streets with the news that
The Times has heard the classic management game from 1992 (can you believe it's been that long?!) is coming to the iPhone.
Champ Man migrated to the mobile a couple of years back and has been going down a storm – picking up Gold Awards for both its
2007 and
2008 outings, which it keeps on the shelf along with its
Scottish BAFTA.
Details on precisely what the iPhone version will include haven't yet been revealed, other than the usual mountain of statistics to keep your flat cap red hot and a 2D match engine for the in-game action.
By all accounts
Championship Manager should be with us very shortly, as it's believed to be going through Apple's submissions mangle right now. More news as we get it, footy fans.

Good God, the iPod is suddenly going football crazy! After months of having only one decent football game in the store (Real Football) and no management sims, there are now loads of games coming out at around the same time.
By my count this is the third management sim to be announced after Soccer Manager and MYFC. I've also read somewhere there might be a fourth one in the offing too but I haven't found anything to confirm this.
It's going to be a tough job deciding what footy management game to get.

Hmmmm, flying in the face of the licensor methinks?
Be prepared for it to be called ChampMan.
I whiled away many an hour on the original Champ Man on my Atari ST, lets hope Glen Molby is still such a good signing!

Man, if it actually is Championship Manager 93, I would be in heaven! Crack out the old 3-3-1-3 formation and play as four teams at once ;o)
I suspect it's not a retro port - or if it is, that it's unofficial.
