PlayStation sidekick goes Solo

It's all about Daxter in PSP's Daxter

Product: Daxter | Developer: Ready At Dawn | Publisher: Sony | Genre: Platform
He's orange, mouthy and of indeterminant origin but Daxter, the star of Sony's Jak and Daxter series of games is finally going solo. In the imaginatively named Daxter (wow how long it took them to think that one up?), he'll be going down the traditional route of platform games with plenty of jumping over moving platforms, ducking beneath moving platforms and jumping into bouncy panels that propel him into high into space so he can fall back into otherwise inaccessible areas as well as plenty of opportunities to shoot loads of bad guys with all manner of strange and wonderful weapons. For example Daxter comes armed with his own spray can gadget which he can use to hover/fly around levels and which doubles up as a flamethrower.

Another neat trick is the game will allow you to link up the forthcoming PlayStation2 racing game Jak X. So if you own both games, you'll be able to transfer characters from Daxter into Jak X, where they will allow you to customise some of the vehicles.

Daxter is currently due for release in 2006.
