Some games just don't quit. Only last week we were telling you that
Flight Control has now sold over 1.5 million copies on the App Store, and today we relay the news that the game's 1.5 update is live. And it's a good one.
Most significantly, there's a whole new map. It's called Australian Outback, and it recognises the efforts of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), which criss-crosses the vast Australian desert sky bringing medical aid to people like Mick Dundee, Charlene Ramsay, and 250,000 other bushmen every year.
The RFDS presence isn't just aesthetic. When a flying doctor appears on the screen he inevitably takes priority over the other flying vehicles, forcing you to make room for him to land first.
The update was put together in association with the RFDS, a non-profit organisation. That means the update, though free, is in a good cause. Tell your friends.
It also expands the multiplayer mode to work with a wider range of phones, iPod touches, and operating systems, and it allows you to listen to your own music as you play.
