Eminem resurfaces with iPhone game

iName is...

Product: Relapse | Genre: Fighting, Film/ TV tie- in
It seems like a while since the eminent rapper Eminem has been in the news, but according to MTV the rhyming controversy is about to kick off all over again as Slim Shady plans an iPhone game to help promote his comeback album Relapse.

The game is said to continue the teaser video for his new 3 A.M., in which the rapper portrays a murderous maniac running through the woods (sounds like he's been playing Hysteria Project). A Tweet sent out by Eminem read, "Relapse iPhone game coming along nicely" accompanied by a screenshot.

According to the album page on Slim's official website, the Relapse game is due for release on the same day, 19th May. Judging by the screenshot - in which Eminem appears to be carrying a 2" by 4" with a nail through the end to bash in zombie skulls - the controversial singer might yet find himself foiled by Apple's approval process, just as Nine Inch Nails did.

Nice to see the young fella getting a bit of work again, though.

If it's anything like his Marshall Mathers album it'll be fantastic...just expect it to be folowed by several very poor games thereafter.

I've always found the concept of Hip Hop themed games a bit odd. It's not like you can get an Indie Rock game or an Electronica game (though I suppose rhythm action games tie into that).

I'd like an Aphex Twin survival horror game in which you trapped inside the video for Come to Daddy. For anyone that doesn't comprehend just how scary that would be, just follow this link:

In my experience Hip Hop themed games often turn out to be horrible survival. Does that count?

Now that I've got to thinking about this, I can't think of a single Hip Hop game that I've actually enjoyed playing even slightly (despite not having any problems with the music, though it's not especially my thing). Does Parappa the Rappa count?

Parappa the Rappa was really fun! Really short... but fun. That last level was the devil man!
