Vice president of Gameloft Gonzague de Vallois has told Digital Spy that iPhone hit N.O.V.A will be venturing to other formats.

"It's an idea we want to build cross-platform,” he said. “So you can expect to see it on new systems in the future".

The game has become something of a poster boy for iPhone’s technical capabilities, and is now proving of similar value to iPad in its HD incarnation.

Whilst not willing to be specific on the subject, Vallois also hinted that the company was considering how best to take their IP forward, and that a sequel may well be on the cards.

Thankfully, Gameloft seems restrained when it comes to capitalising on its success, and does not want to rush anything.

"If you want to create brands you have to keep it alive longterm by finding the right balance between how long you wait to create a new episode,” said Vallois. “Do you have enough content and new features to justify creating a new episode?"

N.O.V.A. for iPhone and N.O.V.A. HD for iPad are available now through the App Store.
