N.O.V.A. 2 coming to iPhone on December 16th
‘Tis the season to blast robots in the face
Gameloft has released another gameplay trailer of its upcoming first-person shooter powerhouse, N.O.V.A. 2, as well as the release date for at least the iPhone version of the game – December 16th. [UPDATE: Gameloft has confirmed that this is solely the iPhone game's release date. The company did not reveal the date for the iPad version.]
N.O.V.A. 2, for those new to iPhone gaming, is the sequel to what is widely regarded as one of the finest FPS games on the iOS devices, managing to carry a Quality index score of 8.9 over 19 reviews, as well as a well-deserved eview.asp?c=17376">Pocket Gamer Gold Award.
This latest entry into the Halo-esque sci-fi shooter picks up from where the last left off, both in story and gameplay.
There's a host of new weapons to play with, along with vehicle sections and a whole new alien machine race to stop. There's also an updated multiplayer mode with support for up to ten players via Gameloft Live, using a similar upgrade system to the excellent eview.asp?c=24080">Modern Combat 2.
We’ll see if it can live up to the steadily-building hype later this week, but in the meantime there’s always our in-depth preview to read, and the aforementioned trailer to drool over below.
