Here's one for anyone who finds racing around a track in a vehicle that protects you from a rag-dolling death to be a little bit tame.

Publisher Nobilis has announced it will be releasing a motorbike racing game called Moto Racer for the DS later this year.

There have been Moto Racer games on other consoles over the years (including Moto Racer Advance for GBA), but this is the first time the dirt-shredding two-wheeled racer has appeared on one of the current handhelds.

Its makers claim the game will be the "first true multi-discipline motorbike game for the DS" - and as we can't think of any others, we're not going to argue.

Those four disciplines are Moto GP, Traffic, Freestyle and Supercross, which all sound pretty self-explanatory. And even if they weren't, all you really need need to know is there are going to be lots of noisy bikes and dirt ramps, just like most other motorbike racing games.

What most other motorbike games don't have though is Moto Racer's stylus control system and a wi-fi multiplayer mode for up to six players. Both of which will hopefully help make this a game worth buying when it's released later this year.

Nobilis says - and we quote - "many other hot revelations are to come". We'll be sure to let you know what they are when they do.
