Announced earlier this year, the extremely successful deckbuilding roguelike Monster Train finally has a release date for its iOS port, and it’s only about two weeks away. On October 27th, gamers will finally be able to take this super unique and popular adventure on the go right in their pockets, and on top of this, pre-orders have also opened so you can get ahead of the curve.

Monster Train was launched on PC and Switch around the same time other super successful deckbuilders were blowing up like Slay The Spire or Hand of Fate, but it was looking to change the game. With a new structure of runs that had never been seen before and some really interesting multi-level mechanics that mixed up the typical formula, Monster Train blew up in popularity and is now held about in the same regard as other deckbuilder roguelike legends.

This success was mostly due to the very different mechanics it introduces. See, in Monster Train, you take control of a train as it traverses a fantasy world filled with danger. This train has three separate floors and a core that acts as your game-over condition. This means that you’ll be dealing with enemies on each floor, and managing basically three separate fights simultaneously.

Of course, as you traverse these lands, you’ll also come across a wide variety of random events that will give you new cards, upgrades, items, and more, all of which will make your run that much easier. The deckbuilding mechanics themself are pretty similar to the usual game in this genre, but there are a few different factions that will each focus on different ways of building up your cards and utilizing different abilities to win.

Monster Train is, to put it simply, an incredible entry into a decently crowded genre, and is absolutely one you should get your hands on. If you’d like to pre-order it ahead of that October 27th release, you can do so at the link below. In the meantime, you can check out the official website for more information on the game!
