Hookshots are the key to victory in upcoming Mikey Shorts sequel
He's the king of the swingers
BeaverTap Games has just revealed the sequel to pacey platformer Mikey Shorts.
Entitled Mikey Hooks, the game will retain its predecessor's tight controls and focus on score-chasing speedruns.
This time, however, Mikey will be able to fire off a hookshot mid-jump. Oh, and swing over obstacles and enemies.
As reported by Touch Arcade, a common love of in-game hookshots was one of the major reasons why Mikey Shorts creators Mike Gaughen and Mike Meade decided to pair up and make their own game in the first place.
With Mikey Hooks, both Mikes can now share their passion for swinging across chasms with the rest of the iOS world.
Fans of the original game needn't fret, though. Mikey Hooks will still feature droid enemies to avoid (or slide-kick), oodles of coins to collect, and an all-new selection of outfits.
And, of course, you'll still be on the lookout for that elusive pair of golden shorts.
Expect to see Mikey Hooks swing onto the App Store sometime this spring.
