You might think that people with BlackBerry handsets would just want to use them for emailing. (Well, that and showing off). However, there's an increasing range of games available for the messaging devices, which are made by Research In Motion (RIM).

Gameloft is the latest publisher to support the devices, announcing plans to bring a bunch of its games to BlackBerry.

"Given the technology advancements embedded in smartphones such as the BlackBerry Pearl and BlackBerry 8800, and RIM's rapidly growing customer base, we believe now is the ideal time to bring our quality games to this award-winning platform," said one Gamelofter, doubtless emailing in his comments from a crowded airport lounge via his 'crackberry'.

So what games are they bringing? The first batch of titles includes Block Breaker Deluxe, Asphalt Urban GT 2, New York Nights, Lost, Midnight Pool, and Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones. Gameloft says more will follow in the future.
