Midnight Pool 2 debuts for mobile

Gameloft's Midnight Pool is still one of the better mobile pool games out there, despite getting on a bit. So news that a sequel is imminent is well worth a cheer.

Midnight Pool 2 takes the same basic formula (well, you can't mess about with the rules of pool much), but amps up the stuff around it.

So you've got 11 characters to pit your potting skills against, with eight new bars to play in, called names like The Cactus, The Route 66 and The Hunter.

The game's gone 3D this time round (at least, the view in the top-left has). You can also buy extra items to aid your prowess, including chalk, cues and gloves.

Along the way, you can rack up (ho ho) achievements, including sinking three balls in a row, and winning a match without committing a single foul. Finally, there's a trick-shot mode, and a pass-the-phone multiplayer option, too.

Midnight Pool 2 is due out imminently, so click 'Track It!' for an alert when we review it.
