Buzz when you think you've heard this one before. Megacity Empire sees you venture into the world of town planning, building residences, businesses, monuments and public utilities, while dealing with traffic, power outages and pollution.

It takes an isometric view of the city, enabling you to see what's going on in your streets, and you get some advisors to help you balance your budget and keep your city growing…

Buzz! Yes, Megacity Empire is about as shamelessly inspired by SimCity as Guitar Legend was by Guitar Hero, leading us to wonder how similar a mobile game has to be to a console or PC title before the lawyers step in.

Still, the game does look good fun, and it does have its own spin on the city management genre. For starters, you're building New York, complete with the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and Central Park.

There are 32 types of buildings to construct, and 15 scenario missions to play through, as well as a Free Construction mode. Catastrophe management is a key part of the game, too, although we're assuming that the Twin Towers and terrorist attacks haven't been included, obviously.

Megacity Empire is out soon, and we'll be interested to see how it stacks up against the hugely impressive SimCity Societies.
