Marvel Contest of Champions introduces Sandman and The Shocker in latest update

Kabam has just released a thrilling update for Marvel Contest of Champions as Spider-Man’s most iconic villains join the fray. The wall-crawler has figured out the Sinister Vault’s location and needs to crack the codes to claim whatever is inside. At the same time, the Shocker and Sandman have found themselves inside the Battlerealm, but things are not what they seem.

When the two Spider-Man villains find themselves in the Marvel COC universe, they figure it's best to find other Sinister Six members. Of course, their plan doesn’t work out as because of all the strangeness around them. The duo will witness a demolished Hell’s Kitchen, an astral landscape, and a multiverse of webheads. Find out what happens in the Just To Get A Rep questline.

Let’s take a more in-depth look at these two villains now. Before Shocker took up his moniker, he was known as Herman Schultz, a gifted engineer who excelled at cracking safes. He eventually became a small-time criminal who was soon imprisoned.

It was in captivity, that he put his engineering skills to use and created his iconic gauntlets. They were capable of firing compressed air and shockwaves and Schultz used these to blast out of prison. The Shocker went on to commit more heinous crimes, becoming one of Spider-Man’s nemeses.

Even Sandman was once a petty criminal who went by the name William Baker or Flint Marko. The origin of his powers was exposure to experimental radiation that destabilized his molecular makeup. Becoming like the sand that was around him, Marko was now super strong, capable of manipulating his size and shapeshifting however he wished.

With Shocker, the Sandman is one of the core members of the iconic Sinister Six. He’s not the smartest of the bunch, but he can surely be quite imposing. The Sandman is also one of Spider-Man’s longstanding villains.
