[Update] Prepare to put your opponent in check in Bronze Award-winning Pure Chess for 3DS
Endgame (Updated with news of an iOS and Android version)
The iOS and Android versions of Pure Chess will boast multiplayer cross-platform support.
Ripstone has just announced that 3DS owners can look forward to checking out Bronze Award-winning Pure Chess on Nintendo's eShop in late 2013 or early 2014.
As its title suggests, Pure Chess is a virtual adaptation of chess. VooFoo Studios is responsible for both this 3DS edition and the original Vita version, though the firm did receive help from a chess Grandmaster during development.
If you're new to the chess scene, by the way, the developer has included a tutorial for beginners in the game.
In our review of the Vita version of Pure Chess, we stated that the "single-player component of Pure Chess is solid, though there are peripheral niggles". Those "niggles" mainly related to the touch controls and the multiplayer setup.
On the subject of more Ripstone games surfacing on 3DS, company co-founder Phil Gaskell stated that "we hope to announce more games for eShop in the future."
